About the Uganda hub
Led by Dr Andrew Kambgu, CAMO-Net Uganda is based in the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) at Makerere University, Kampala. IDI has an outstanding national and international reputation for excellence in infectious diseases research and capacity development.
Our strength in Uganda lies in clinical pharmacology with expertise in pharmacokinetics of antimicrobials and managing polypharmacy and bioinformatics, as well as global health security and the implementation of m-Health.
We are leaders in the region with existing datasets for priority diseases to focus on the key aspects of AMR. CAMO-Net’s specific local interest in Uganda is personalised prescribing for the optimal management of infection in the context of common comorbidities (e.g., TB and HIV) and polypharmacy.
